DEWALT DC730KA Cordless 14.4-Volt Compact Drill/Driver
I bought this a number of weeks ago at a neighborhood store for simply south of $100 on sale. It replaced a twelve volt model I even have used for ten years that finally gave up the ghost - really to switch with a twelve volt would are additional pricey thanks to the sale thus I went with this one.
I have been very happy with the performance of this unit and particularly the quick charging and extra power compared to the twelve volt. My 1st project was a fifteen foot red cedar garden bridge I engineered to cross alittle stream - this concerned drilling regarding twenty half-inch holes and screwing in regarding four hundred deck screws. For {just regarding the whole project i used to be constantly using this drill and by the time I went through one battery pack the opposite one was charged and prepared to travel (so about an hour or additional of constant use, that is impressive).
I am wanting forward to using the additional compact style in tight spots as that had been a difficulty with my previous drill and therefore the LED light-weight appearance helpful yet. many months (and many projects) later and this drill remains going sturdy. The LED light-weight is actually not too helpful, however, because the chuck creates a shadow right where you're drilling. simply mounted with a chunk of electrical tape to hide it up, if you would like to hassle (I haven't). i believe this feature would be of use if they place the sunshine down simply on top of the battery on the front, shining upward into the world where the drill bit is. however however, i am not a tool designer and there's possible some reason that might not work. Anyway, still an excellent product that i might obtain once more.

what is the difference between a Dewalt drill and a driver?
Do drivers only have the ability to screw in things? Can you use drill bits in them also, or do you need to have a drill/driver combo?
The drilling feature has no clutch settings on it. Using the drill mode the drill turns at full torque and clutch won't kick in.
In the driver mode you can set the clutch dial to different settings for torque. Torque is another name for raw power. It may reduce the turning speed , but it puts more power behind the screw or whatever you are fastening with.
A drill in the drill mode is like 1 sled dog pulling a snow sled really fast.
A drill in the clutch mode on high torque setting is like 1 sled dog pulling 3 snow sleds, but at a lower speed.
Torque is "raw power"
